Army helicopters, Navy drones sink two retired ships at RIMPAC
A recent military training exercise in the United States involved sinking two decommissioned Navy ships. The ships, USS Peleliu and USS Mobile Bay, were targeted by American and allied militaries as part of the Rim of the Pacific exercise. The exercise, known as a SINKEX, allowed participating units to practice using missiles and other weapons.
Units from several countries, including the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Spain, took part in the operation. Further details about the exercise, including video footage of the ships being hit, are available from the Navy's 3rd Fleet.
