Navy christens new destroyer named for corpsman who earned Medal of Honor
A new Navy destroyer has been christened in honor of a Medal of Honor recipient. The USS William Charette, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, was christened at the Bath Iron Works dry dock in Maine. The ship is named after Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class William Charette, who served during the Korean War.
