New capsule endoscopy option for easier GI screening
Veterans in the Durham area have a new option for gastrointestinal screening. This technology allows them to complete their screening at home. A small device is ingested, which then captures images of the digestive tract.
The device is small enough to be swallowed and contains a tiny camera. It takes many high-resolution images as it moves through the body. Further details about this new screening option are available from the Durham VA Health Care System, which is the first VA facility to offer this procedure.
