US Special Operations Command is introducing a new rifle to replace the MK17 SCAR-H. The new rifle, called the MK24, can fire 7. 62mm and 6.
5mm Creedmoor rounds. A key feature of the MK24 is its quick-change swappable barrel, which allows it to fire both types of ammunition. The MK24 is currently in production and is expected to be fielded to special operations forces later this fiscal year, with further details available from US Special Operations Command.
