A wildfire has prompted the evacuation of a VA medical center and clinics in Spokane, Washington. The Mann-Grandstaff Veterans Affairs Medical Center is located near the fire perimeter and has been closed until further notice. Patients were relocated to local hospitals and area shelters, with 27 being cared for at shelters.

The evacuation is part of a larger response to the Spokane Complex Fire, which has burned over 8,000 acres and forced more than 60,000 people to leave the area. The fire has also destroyed at least 600 structures. Further details on the evacuation and fire response are available from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the medical center's Facebook page.
