Our analysis The Air Force's new policy aiming to streamline health care access for reservists and Air National Guardsmen may not adequately address the complexities surrounding benefits for those injured on duty. A key issue lies in the "In Line of Duty" determination, which is crucial for accessing medical continuation orders, active duty pay, and Tricare. Despite Air Force rules stating that this status should be automatic unless clear evidence shows otherwise, airmen and veterans report that the Air Force frequently cancels these determinations without providing sufficient evidence.
