Homestead property owned by an honorably discharged veteran with a VA-certified service-connected permanent and total disability is fully exempt from ad valorem property taxes, with no cap on home value. The exemption can carry over to an un-remarried surviving spouse who keeps the home. Applications are filed with the county property appraiser by March 1.
