Veterans with a 100% permanent, service-connected disability certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs receive a full exemption from property tax on the fair cash value of their homestead. The unremarried surviving spouse keeps the exemption. Apply with Oklahoma Tax Commission Form 998 through the county assessor.

The Oklahoma Heroes Promise scholarship pays tuition at Oklahoma public colleges (and part of tuition at accredited private colleges and technology centers) for children of service members killed in the line of duty, or who died of line-of-duty injuries, after January 1, 2000. It covers up to five years or a bachelor's degree, and the student must enroll in the Oklahoma state system before turning 21.
Oklahoma veterans receiving VA compensation at the 100% rate also get an annual sales-tax exemption on up to $25,000 in qualifying purchases via a card obtained through the Oklahoma Veterans Registry; unremarried surviving spouses get a $1,000-per-year exemption.
